Lifesaving

This is a sub heading if you want to use it

Lifeguarding is at the heart of what we do.

At Raglan Surf Life Saving Club, our lifeguards work hard to keep beachgoers safe. Each season, Raglan consistently ranks among the top five surf life saving clubs in New Zealand for rescues, first aids, and searches. We’re also one of the busiest beaches in the country when it comes to preventative actions—proactively stepping in to stop situations from becoming emergencies.

While on patrol, our lifeguards are often the first on scene for marine emergencies at the beach, working closely alongside Raglan Coastguard and other emergency services to keep our community safe. During the winter months, when patrols are not on, our team is still available on a call-out basis.

In the 2024/25 summer season, our lifeguards carried out:

  • 31 rescues
  • 115 first aids
  • 26 searches
